The different semi-finished tyre products require ever-tighter manufacturing tolerances coupled with ever-higher throughput rates.
KraussMaffei Berstorff extrusion lines are designed for high product quality plus maximum throughput and are equipped with extruders of different types (GE-SC, GE-W or GE-KS) and sizes. Thanks to the modular design, the line configuration is easily adapted to the production requirements determined by the profile cross-section, i.e. as Mono, Duplex, Triplex or Quadroplex unit.

KraussMaffei Berstorff Multiplex extrusion systems are designed in a piggyback arrangement to achieve maximum product quality through symmetrical material flow in the die. In addition, the compact design ensures real space-savings. An additional feature to satisfy exacting quality requirements is the special design of the flow channels in the extrusion die. These channels ensure very gentle and even material transfer from the round section at the extruder outlet to the rectangular flat form of the profile. In addition, the changes in direction of the material flow in the flow channel are kept to a minimum.

All stages of the process are controlled continuously by a monitoring system, thus ensuring high reliability in operation.

Throughput rates of up to 10 000 kg/h or about 30 000 car tyre treads per day are possible with these state-of-the-art extrusion lines.
